Smith Mountain Lake Women’s Club

Women's Club KnittersThe Smith Mountain Lake Women’s Club is a long time supporter of Adele’s Legacy.  Long  before this group had a name ladies from the Women’s Club were helping Adele unsnarl miles of yarn and hand craft it into miniature works of art for children.  The Club provides support for this and many other projects in our community.

The Smith Mountain Lake Women’s Club is a volunteer and charitable organization.  Begun in 1988 as the Village Woman’s Club, the name was changed in 1991 to Smith Mountain Lake Women’s Club (SMLWC) to better reflect the area’s membership.

The objectives of the SMLWC are to promote and encourage member’s interest in the arts, conservation, education, home life, women’s health, public and international affairs, and to promote members with opportunities for community service.

Membership in the SMLWC is open to any woman resident in the Smith Mountain Lake area whose interests are consistent with the objectives of the club.  The SMLWC meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month (September through May) at the Waterfront Country Club.
